On 23rd December 2020, our beloved Eternal Friend, Ishwar Puri Ji, left his physical body to be reunited with His Loving Master – Great Master, Hazur Maharaj Baba Sawan Singh Ji – in his eternal home.
His last loving instructions to us were to look for him on the inside. The body was not the Real Form and the Real Guru is the “Shabd“.
Ishwar ji always used to mention regarding the spiritual path that “Seeking is the Secret and Love & Devotion is the key!”
Ishwar C Puri ji
Ishwar C Puri ji was born and brought up in Punjab, India (before partition). He served the Government of India as Chief Secretary of Punjab during his professional stint. In 1960s, he attended Harvard University prior to retiring from service with the Government of India. He continues to serve as a consultant, board chairman, and senior advisor to a number of corporations worldwide.
Despite having such rich education and professional experience, Ishwar ji’s life changing event happened in 1936 – when he was 9 years old and was initiated by Great Master Hazur Maharaj Baba Sawan Singh ji into the practice of ‘Surat Shabd Yoga’ form of meditation. Since, then he was curious to learn all types of yogic practices and other forms of meditation. However, with course of time he realized that ‘Surat Shabd Yoga’ is the perfect form of meditation for self-realization, which eventually leads to god-realization.
Ishwar ji relishes every moment, experience and memory he had in company of Great Master. Being a devoted disciple of Great Master, Ishwar ji continues his service to Great Master by sharing his spiritual experiences, Great Master’s Sant Mat teachings and best practices for ‘Surat Shabd Yoga’ in his spiritual lectures. These practices & spiritual lectures can guide any seeker who seeks the real truth, the true knowledge of knowing the self, the purpose of human life and secret of getting out of the cycle of life and rebirth.
Ishwar ji explains – “Seeking is the secret, Love and Devotion is the key!”
Surat Shabd Yoga
‘Surat’ means ‘attention’ that is, an outward expression of the soul. ‘Shabd’ is the sound current or audible life stream. ‘Shabd’ is also referred to as Kalma, Naadh or the Holy Word in different scriptures. ‘Yoga’ means ‘union’. So, ‘Surat Shabd Yoga’ is a form of meditation, by practice of which one could withdraw the attention from one’s body, thoughts, desires and connect the attention with the sound current or audible life stream. By regularly practicing ‘Surat Shabd Yoga’ under the guidance of a Perfect Living Master, one’s attention connects with the ‘Shabd’ and ‘Shabd’ pulls the attention to one’s true self that is the soul which eventually merges back to the almighty.
